Jessica Robbins

Jessica Robbins

Jessica Robbins' studio

Jessica Robbins work stems from visual elements that make patterns. Repeated companion shapes stem from a main element that cohabitates the same space, forming a tight composition that creates one unified response.

Utilizing details juxtaposing graphical structures and painterly fluid fields, invasive colors are humbled by the excitement of the monochromatic surrounding interference or vice versa. The stylized medallions, symbols and pattern images are worked over in each piece individually and then carry over into other paintings, from piece to piece, expanding into a cohesive body of work.

Most evident in each piece is the passion for formal painting and the influence of textile design. Robbins works in automobile enamels, acrylic, varnishes & oils – predominantly on wood panels. Jessica has been showing with us since our inauguration in 2003.
